In 2014 I decided to build a tiny house. I had no idea where to begin, but somehow these things have a way of working themselves out. At the time, my son was working for a company, Ecovative Design, in Troy NY. The product they produce is a proprietary blend of organic material (mulch like) and mycelium. The result of the mix is the ability to grow pretty much anything. The material is eco friendly, non toxic and fire resistant. I decided it would be a great medium to experiment with in building Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs). There is a lot that Ecovative has done in advancing environmental concerns particularly in the styrofoam and plastics industries. Please visit them to learn more at www.EcovativeDesign.com .
The following is a slideshow of how the structure, my tiny house named Juniper, came together. This is just the beginning, with more videos to follow of the very unique interior floor plan. Enjoy!
