Speaking My Peace

Nourishing the essence of life through mindful living.
Hello Beautiful People!
Here is a little about my history and credentials. My career has largely been shaped by trauma-informed care, with meditation always as an integral part of the healing process.
I began my studies into complementary and alternative therapies in 2000, at Maria College - Albany, New York. There, I gained extensive knowledge of how the effects of these therapies can help people who have experienced various forms of trauma. A core part of the program was meditation. Here, I studied many forms of the practice, including TM, Vipassana, Buddhist, and countless other techniques.
During this time, I became a Reiki Master. It was several years later that I discovered Yoga Nidra, a form of guided meditation. This is where my passion and expertise were launched.
Throughout my career, I have served as a wellness consultant for several agencies, including;
MVP Health Care
New Choices Addiction Recovery
Albany Medical Center Child Cancer Palliative Care Team
and as a member of the University at Albany Hearts Initiative.
In 2006, I had the privilege to intern at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, with the iRest team, in a research program offering yoga and meditation to active duty military members diagnosed with non-responsive PTSD.
Upon my return to upstate NY, I formed Soldiers Hope, Inc., a non-profit organization to educate and empower veterans through the use of alternative and complementary therapies.
During this time, I served as the Executive Director of Orenda Yoga & Healing Arts - Schenectady, New York.
My recent efforts are focused on advocating the importance of building resilience through self-care practices and empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge to do so.
In 2017, I moved to the tiny country of Belize in Central America, where I facilitated yoga retreats and paddleboard adventures. When international travel halted in 2020, I returned to my home at The Little Red Cottages. Currently, I continue to share Healing and Creative Arts.
Although I am no longer teaching yoga publicly, I am available for private services, including meditation coaching, Reiki mentorship, and small group Yoga Nidra workshops.
