This tiny sanctuary is nestled on the edge of a northeastern forest, mixed with hardwoods and evergreens. The ground is solid with rock just below the shallow surface. Boulders support the landscape with deep springs of clean water nourishing the essence of all aspects of life here.
In addition to my tiny dogs, Mala and TacoBelle, a trio of cackling hens joined the family this summer. Followed in autumn by 2 kitties, Maeve and Gwendolyn, aka the cops, for their patrolling against would-be egg robbers.
The perennial gardens are spectacular with a progression of blooms from forget-me-knots to hydrangeas throughout the summer. And of course, there is always an effort on expanding to food gardens.
The small lake just a short mile up the road has a public boat launch that serves my need to paddle whenever the mood hits, and a microbrewery a half-mile in the opposite direction in case of extreme thirst!
I am extremely grateful for this little sanctuary and hope that you will join me in cyber, or in person.
